Fall Break Haul

It has been a long start to the semester and Fall Break could not have come at a better time. Don't you agree? I love getting to go home and see my family and bonus! Rachel and Allie are coming, too, even though they had their break last weekend. I know that just about everyone thinks their hometown has the best shopping/eating/atmosphere, but let me tell you, mine takes the cake. When I am here, there are a few stores that are unique to home and I must stop at.
The first place I have to go to is The Cosmetic Market. There are only two (Green Hills and Franklin) but they are worth the drive! They stock an array of beauty essentials and the atmosphere is to die for. In addition to carrying NARS, Bumble and Bumble, and a few other brands you can pick up at Sephora, they also carry Butter London nail polish which is a huge rarity. They also carry Emi-Jay's which are these amazing hair ties that don't crease your hair (score!) Usually I take about an hour to peruse but was in a rush, so I got in and out in a record 15 minutes!

Branwen's Feather

The first thing I bought was a Butter London nail polish. If you've never tried the brand, I highly recommend it for its consistency, staying power, and overall texture (especially the glitter polishes!) I am typically a neutral on the fingers (I Gotta Blush On You from Sephora by OPI is my favorite and I've already had to buy a second bottle) and red/burgundy on my toes kinda gal, but I thought I'd mix it up a little for the fall. I've already delved into Essies Fall 2012 Collection and noticed it was lacking one thing- a good plum. However as I was browsing the BL shelves, I saw a pretty, subtly glittery deep plum right in front of me called Branwen's Feather - it's described on the BL website as a glittery, purpley-black polish but unless you're in the sunlight, I'd have to say it's mostly black! That's what I get for thinking out of the box! I like it well enough, but if you're scared of black polish, I would try this purple instead! I guess this gives me license to buy more polish!

L'occitane Lavande Hand Cream
In addition to the Emi-Jay's in black and brown (boring, I know!), which you can find here or at The Cosmetic Market, I bought my mom some L'occitane hand cream. She used some of my Lavande scent that I bought at Sephora and we both agreed that it is amazingly non-greasy, moisturizing and, most importantly, subtly scented like lavander. Good job, L'occitane! Get yourself some from the L'occitane website or drop into your local Sephora- they have the smaller tubes in a variety of scents for $10.
I hope you enjoy your break as much as I enjoy mine (it's not even half over yet!) Happy Decompressing!
